Confined Space Entry VR Training for Oil and Gas
How oil and gas teams use our Confined Space Entry module: the PPE, the permit and gas tests at three levels before entry, with an AI instructor on hand.
This is a use case: how one of our modules fits this industry. It is not a client project, and the module is ready to demo today.
- Module
- Confined Space Entry (Safety Library)
- Industry
- Energy, oil and gas
- Scenario
- Manhole entry, with an AI instructor
- Headset
- Meta Quest 3 or 3S
- Plans
- In every Safety Library plan, from $179 a month
The risk
In a confined space the air itself can be the hazard: too little oxygen, toxic gas or flammable vapor. The checks before entry decide whether everyone comes back out.
What the trainee does
- An AI instructor guides the trainee through the module.
- Learn what each item of PPE is for: coverall, hard hat, gloves, harness and gas detector.
- Complete a digital work permit: atmospheric test, PPE, communication, rescue plan, isolation of utilities (LOTO), ventilation, lighting, a hole watcher and a rescue team on standby.
- Sign the confined space log book.
- Test the air at the manhole with the gas detector, at the top, middle and bottom, for oxygen, toxic and flammable gas, before entry.
- Inside the space, react to the gas alarm: open both ventilation hatches.
Fit it to your site
Use the module as it is in any Safety Library plan, or have it fitted to your equipment, layouts and procedures from $2,500. Most sessions finish within 8 to 20 minutes.
